FIREMEN HONOURED
NORTHCOTE FUNCTION SUPERINTENDENT'S GOLD STAR To mark his completion of 25 years' service with the Northcote Fire Brigade. Superintendent W . P- Roberts was presented with a gold star by Captain T. J. Watts, secretary of the United Fire Brigades' Association, at a function held at Northcote on Saturday night. Mr. J. W. Lethbridge presided over a large attendance, including representative's of other brigades and the members of the Northcote Borough Council. On behalf of the Northcote Council, the Mayor, .Mr. H. Martin, presented Mr. Roberts with a smoker's stand. Service bars were presented by Superintendent A. E. Foil as, of the Devonport brigade, to Firemen A. Broady, J. Andrews and Foreman W. Morrison.
