NAVAL ACTION IN ENGLISH CHANNEL: The British destroyer Javelin (1690 tons), which was torpedoed during an engagement between British and Gorman light naval forces when hits were scored on the German yhips as they fled toward Brest. The Javelin was successfully escorted into port, in spite of enemy bombing.
