TASMAN AIR SERVICE
AOTEAROA FROM SYDNEY HEAD WINDS ENCOUNTERED Strong bead winds were encountered by Tasman Empire Airways' flying-boat Aotearoa in a flight from Sydney yesterday. As a result the time of 9 hours 23 minutes taken for the journey was somewhat longer than usual. Rough conditions near sea-level were escr-ped by flying at a high altitude for much of the distance. The flying-boat, which was commanded by Captain Oscar Garden, carried 15 passengers. They were Jiesdames A. A. Dilicar, A. J. Forbes, J. S. Galiand, J. Pope and E. Whitley, Misses C. J. Babington, C. R, Jackman and A. Hathaway, and Messrs. F. Carruthers, R. C. Costin, A. J. Forbes, W. G. Harrison. C. Hartridge, R. Harvey and A. McDonald. Mail carried by the Aotearoa totalled 4401b. and there was 5101b. of freight. A flying-boat will leave for Sydney on Thursday.
