FAKE DISTRESS TELEGRAM
Walter Jackson, aged fifty-five, of Scarborough, Yorkshire, employed in a factory at Cowes, Isle of Wight, showed fellow-workmen a fake telegram telling that his homo was in ruins. They collected £'.'s Us Gd for him. Later, in Court, lie was fined £5 and told that but for the state of his health he would have been sent to gaol.
