ATTACK ON BANGITIKI NO FURTHER NEWS AMERICAN SPECULATIONS NEW YORK, Nov. 7 In spite of a close vigil on shortwave wireless since the report of the attack on the New Zealand Shipping Company's, liner Rangitiki by a German ship of the Graf Spee class on Tuesday, mid-way between Ireland and Newfoundland, there has been no further, news. Xo confirmation is available of reports that British warships are speeding to the aid of the Rangitiki.-
A correspondent of the North American Newspaper Alliance, Jay Allen, who was en route to Lisbon in an American Clipper, cabled from Horta, in the Azores, that the Clipper had been warned at midnight by an American coastguard that a battle was being fought directly in the course of the machine. The course was altered 150 miles in consequence. On account of this, it is speculated that eitlier a "leisurely" attack is continuing at extraordinary length or that British warships have arrived and are engaging the enemy. "VAST U-BOAT FLEET" COMPLETION APPROACHING GERMAN ADMIRAL'S EROADCAST (Received November 8, 7.20 p.m.) BERLIN. Nov. 7 Rear-Admiral Lutzow, in a broadcast, said the - completion of a vast U-boat construction plan was rapidly approaching. U-boats were being equipped with all sorts of improved devices. He suggested that U-boats' successes were due to a new method of attack.

Moore-Braba--7.0n stated in the House of Commons that there was no evidence to indicate that the Taunton railway accident last Monday was in any way due to a defective track, sabotage or enemy action.
