MORRINSVILLE HORSE / FAIR The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile reports that at its Morrinsville horse fair competition for good farm horses was keen, but inferior soils were rather hard to dispose of. There was also a good inquiry for hacks, and these sold well throughout. Young farm horses sold from £2O to £2O; medium, £2O to £25 10s; aged, £l4 to £l9 10s; good hacks, £l2 to £ls 15s; others, from £8 to £ll 10s.

THE CITY MARKETS VEGETABLE PRICES RISE Although new potatoes continued to sell at very low, prices, rates for vegetables showed a general increase at the City Markets yesterday. Fair supplies of green peas and hothouse beans •sold at very.high values, as did short quantities of kumanvs- and pumpkins. Onions and new season's marrows also were de.ir. and cabbages and cauliflowers sold at slightly firmer rates. Largo quantities of hothouse tomatoes realised lower values, while prices remained high for a slightly" larger offering of strawberries.
