CAMP SERVICES

Sir, —A few days ago I had the pleasure of a chat with an officer stationed at the Papakura camp. He gave me a very graphic and interesting account of camp life there;

He told me that the Sunday services were greatly appreciated by the men, and that it seemed strange to him that the reading of the Lord's Prayer and a portion of the Bible in schools should cause so much friction and trouble to school boards and committees, seeing that Parliament is opened with prayer and it is carried out in camp without hostility or disagreement of any kind. Surely, ho said, if it is good for the men it ought to be more so for the children. A very wise remark, I think. W.D.G.
