Faces
I'ce seen faces, lots of faces-, Smiling, scowling, some so gracloas, Passing up and down the street But never stopping, me to greet. But this morning I saw faces, Smiling, scowling, some so gracious, Laughing, nodding up at me. So clearly anyone could see. Now these folkses Were but faces, With no dainty frills or laccs, Pansies nodding in the breeze, So very nearly people these. Now this face all brown and purple, > Scowling, frowning—Tommy Turble 1 Smiling sweetly out at me. That's mother's face that 1 can see. Then a shock. —among these faces. Purple—yellow! Oh, good gracious I Yawning, blinking, it's a fact That one's Tommy, our black cat! —I. B. Colley.
