CRICKET SEASON
SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP FIRST SERIES TO-DAY EDEN AND PAPAKURA CAMP The Auckland Cricket Association's 1940-41 season will be opened to-dn.v, when the first series of games in the senior championship will he commenced. For the first time in the history ot the competition, 10 teams will take part, tin? newcomers being Training College and Pa pa k lira Camp. The principal attraction at. Eden Park on No. 3 wicket will ho tho mooting of Eden and Papakura Camp, and considerable interest, will centre in the performance of the latter side. Grafton should prove a match for University on No. 4 wicket. Training College will opposo Y.M.C.A. at Papatoetoe, and Pon-Sonby-Balmoral and Parnell will meet at Victoria Park. North Shore's opponents at Dovonport will bo Middlemoro.
