DANGER TO TROUT FISHING
Sir, —A letter ' appeared in your columns recently dealing with proposed alterations and deepening of the \\ nikalo River. Mr. I*'. S„ Dyson, district engineer of tlie J'uhlic Uorks Department, replied, but did not state why the present river level is not satisfactory.
I think if the matter is further investigated it will be found that the Public Works Department intends to enlarge tbc outlet of the lake along bv tbc white buoy and thus ill dry weather drain the lake to a much lower level than at present. Jf that is so where do the fishermen come in? It is up to the Taupo residents to go into this matter for if the fishing goes so docs Taupo. HaTKI'AYKK ami Angi.er.
