Friday A sharp downpour early this morning had a beneficial efTert upon the Paeroa course and the going to-mcrrow should be excellent. There was some schooling this morning, but Day Wind, who wont five furlongs, was the only horse to gallop. . Small Boy (Burgess) and Floodlight (Chaplin) jumped the sod wall and five brush fences, including the double, in company. They acquitted themselves well. Searcher CCnrran) and British Sovereign (Burgess) gave a good display over the same five fences. Blue Steel (Chaplin) negotiated three brush fences well. DATES CONFIRMED WELLINGTON RACING CLUB [jTT TELEGRAPH —PIIKRS ASSOCIATION J WELLINGTON, Friday It, was officially announced after a conference to-day that the spring meeting of the Wellington Racing Hub will bo held on the scheduled dates. October 24. 26 and 28. The courso and appointments will not be used by the military authorities for some time prior to the meeting. FOXOLA CHANGES HANDS The three-year-old Foxola has been purchased bv the Hon. E. R. Davis and Mr. 0 Nicholson, and she is now under the care of T Verner at Takanini. Purchased at the yearling sales in 19.38 by the Takanini trainer W Clifton for 110 guineas, Foxola is a filly by Foxbridgc from Aureola, and she is very promising. Up to the present she has done verv little racing, but she performed very creditably in running third at her last start to Glen Connell and Venture in the Trial Stakes on the second day of the Avondale Jockey Club's Spring Meeting.
