AWAKINO FLAX MILL
REOPENING EXPECTED VISIT PAID BY EXPERTS [bt telegraph—own correspondent] DARGAVILLE, Thursday It is stated that the Dargaville Flaxmilling Company's property at Awakino, which has been closed for some years, will be reopened shortly. During this week a visit to the property and the flax-growing lands in the vicinity was made by two experts, Messrs. R. MaeDonald and H. R. Ogilvey, members of the Flax Plan Committee under the Bureau of Industry. They were accompanied by Messrs. E. H. Sutton, of Foxton, and' F. Douglas, of Mercer. The visitors were impressed with the possibilities of reopening the industry m this district. It is anticipated a start will be made almost immediately with the erection of an up-to-date mill near Dargaville on the banks of the Awakino Stream.
