It states that the route to Egypt has not been affected, and points out that two large fleets of troopships from India had negotiated it without the loss of a single life. Seventy-one ships in the past year, the message continues, have sailed through the Red Sea without" loss. PAY FOR GERMANS FRENCH PROVIDE FUNDS LONDON, Sept. 12 It is reported from Vichy that the Bank of France has agreed to place 50,000,000,000 francs at the disposal of the Government to pay for the upkeep of German troops in occupied France.
