Australian Film
AMBITIOUS PRODUCTION
At Argosy's Fig Tree Studios, Sydney, the ambitious film "The Power and the Glory" is now under way. Based on a story of the director, Noel Monkman, its scope embraces Germany, France and Australia, with a spy story. A technical difficulty, since reported to have been completely overcome, was to obtain sufficient photo-
graphic contrast between the scenes located ,on the Continent and those at home, since both had to be made in the bright Australian sunshine. The Royal Australian Air Force occupies an important place in the structure of the plot, the hero, Eric Bush, being cast as a flight-lieutenant. Scenes at Mascot aerodrome have already been filmed, and the company will shortly move to Camden training field for further aerial work. The film deals with the discovery by a Czech chemist of a deadly gas, which is wanted by the Nazis. The chemist, a pacifist, flees to Australia, where the finale is located.
