Pink Blossoms
"HEAR ANNE SHIRLEY,—Before I " U sat down to write this letter, I had been gazing at the fruit tree outside our window, and had been marvelling at the delicacy of the pretty shell-pink blossoms. Spring has wared her wand again and has changed the countrv from a bleak bare place into a scene of beautv. From our acacia hedge little flu Ifv balls of yellow protrude, and I know that soon it will .be a blaze of -'Yellow. Through the pink and white blossoms of the fruit trees sharp-pointed spears of'green appear, rtl. Peace and tranquillity reign supreme -nta this bright spring day, and I see on the distant emerald hills cows are quietly grazing. A cow lows, a car buzzes by, and some birds burst into tone The silence is broken.—Yours sincerely, Hazel Baker (15), Pukekapia.
