NATIONAL JERSEY SHOW
AWARDS AT CLAUDELANDS [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday Some magnificent Jersey bulls were paraded at the annual national Jersey show and sale at theClaudelands pavilion to-day. The exhibition was arranged by Wright, Stephenson and Company, Limited. There were over 100 entries, and the quality of the exhibits was regarded as being very satisfactory and comparing favourably with that of previous displays. The judges were Messrs. C. G. C. Dermer (Feilding), H. Moreland (Newstead), W. H. Miers (Rototuna) and H. J. Lancaster (Palmerston North).
The results were as follows:—Junior championship: Mr. W. S. McEwen's (Pukeroro) Craigknoll Design's Ajax and Mr. J. Jameson's (Masterton) Tuhitarata. equal. Two-year-old class: Dr. G. Walker's (Whangarei) Beaulieu Gambeau, 1; Mr. A. C. Smith's (Hamilton) Oaklea Flag's Raleigh, 2; Mr. C. G. C. Deriner's (Feilding) Waipiko Jolly Man, 3. Group of three by one sire: Mr. W. S. McEwcn. Pukeroro, 1; Mr. J. Jameson, Masterton. 2; Mr. J. Bones, Kaipaki, 3. Grand champion: Mr. W. H. Jakins' (Christchurch) Keeper's Marquis; reserve champion, Mr. R. D. Hosking's (Waiuku) Belle's Pioneer. The placings in the senior championship were the same. Champion two-year-old: Dr. G. Walker's Beaulieii Gambeau; reserve, Mr. A. C. Smith's Oakle-a Flag's Raleigh. .Aged class: Mr. W. H. Jakins' Keepers' Marquis, 1; Mr. R. D. Hosking's Belle's Pioneer. 2; Mr. R. Waterhouse's (Takanini) Finiston Coy ' Bov, 3. Three-year-olds: Mr. D. O'Sullivan's (Inglewood) Mentone Dreaming Sultan, 1; Mr. W. J. Chen Chvnoweth's (Walton) Marshlands Son O Prince, 1; Mr. E. Hofinann's (Katikati) Caerlcon Te Hero. 2. Yearling Classes.—First, prroup: Mr. TV. S. McEwen's (Pukeroro), Craigknoll Design's Ajax. 1; Mr. W. S. McEwen's (Pukeroro) Craigknoll Design's Chief, 2; Mr. J. Bones' (Kaipaki) Greencroft Consul, 3.
