GOLF TECHNIQUE
Tn a recent article in the Knglish publication. Golfing, a writer stated that for manv vears British golfers were accustomed to regard putting as purely a matter of inspiration. They adopted any old style that happened to take their fancy with the resuit that sometimes they putted brilliantly, but more often badly. Then along came Walter Hasten and Bobb.v Jones to teach them that lliere were certain scientific principles' to he followed. Tlagen's stance brines his right eve >vertically over the ball, so thai in the address the line from 'the eve to tho ball, the line. • from the ball to the hole, and the lino of tho palter face are all at right angle to one another. Add to this that the putter head has to be kept travelling backward and forward in a straight line with the blade at right angles to that line and you have a style which requires a great deal of practice to master, but which Is almost foolproof when you do.
