The presbytery requested congregations to observe next Sunday as thanksgiving day for missions. A very successful year's work by the Presbyterian Social Service Association was reported, receipts amounting to £2589.

A resolution passed by the congregation that the resignation lie on the table for 12 months was agreed to. Representatives of St. Luke's appeared to support a resolution that their minister, the Rev. R. G. McDowall. now on active service as ,n chaplain, he granted leave of absence for the period of his military service. The presbytery approved of this. It was decided to extend an invitation at the next General Assembly for the 1941 Assembly to be held in Auckland.
