ASSAULT IN TRAMCAR

Charged with boarding a moving tramcar, and with obstructing and assaulting the motorman and a passenger, William Frederick Perry pleaded not guilty before Mr. Fi H. Levien, S.M., in the Onehunga Police Court yesterday.

The evidence showed that when the motorman, John Blackmore, requested accused-to get off the tram he refused and struck Blackmore on the face. While accused Was travelling toward Onehunga an altercation took place between him and another passenger, whom Perry was alleged to have struck twice.

Accused 'was fined £4 for striking the v motorman and £1 for obstructing him, and £3 for assaulting the passenger.
