GOLDEN WEDDING

OLD AUCKLAND RESIDENTS |MR. AND MRS. C. NORGROVE ' Married in Auckland in 1890, Mr. and Airs. C. Norgrove, of 53 Cumberland Avenue, Westmere, celebrated their golden wedding on Sunday. Four sons, one daughter and 10 grandchildren were present. Born in Wanganul 71 years ago, Mrs. Norgrove' has spent most of her life in Auckland, Mr. Norgrove came to New Zealand from Oxford,^ England, in the ship May, Queen in 1878, at the age of nine. For 30 years he was in business in the Ponsonby and Grey Lynn districts, and during that period served on the Ponsonby and Grey Lynn school committees. He-was made a justice of the peace in 1907, and was a member for several years of the old Grey Lynn Borough Conned. Mr. Norgrove lias belonged for 41 years to the" Oddfellows' Lodge, N Star of Eden, Ponsonby. At one time he was a keen follower of the hounds with the Pakuranga Hunt Club, and was actively concerned with the Butchers _ lootball Clnb of 1889.'Mr. Norgrove is one of the original members of the Grey Lj'nn Bowling Club.. - i Mr. and Mrs. Norgrove had two sons serving in the "last war, one being killed. Another son is serving with the second echelon.
