ONEHUNGA INTERESTS

It being disclosed that a considerable number of former ratepayers had abandoned their sections, involving a substantial loss in rates, the Oneliunga Borough Council last night decided that the question be placed in the hands of 1 the borough solicitors, with the object of having these allotments transferred to the council, so that they may be disposed of and again become revenue producing. The engineer reported that the subsidised workers employed in the collection of borough refuse complained that they were unable to cease work on wet days, as did other subsidised workers. Authority was given the engineer to arrange for additional collections when necessary, and to make the best possible arrangements" with the men.
