WELFARE APPEAL

RECEIPTS TOTAL £101,917 Receipts in the Fighting Services Welfare Appeal amount to £101,917, according to a statement made by Sir James Grose at a recent meeting of the joint committee of the Y.M.C.A. and the Salvation Army. About £3OOO was yet to come in. Expenses had amounted to £3764, or 3.5 per cent of the receipts, leaving a probable net balance of £IOI,OOO. As tho business for which tho committee had been set up had been brought to a conclusion it was decided to disband and notify tho National Patriotic Fund Board that it would be pleased to act again should the necessity arise.
