NIGHT

The tender chords of beauty, Are gently touched this night, As through the cool dim darkness The moon pours forth its light. I see the golden moon-beams All fas the shadows greyi I hear the breeze's music In a sad, windy lay. Up through the gentle darkness, I gaze up ana afar, There scattered o'er the heavens Shines forth each tiny star. The night has fallen gently, And nothing but the breeze Stirs the peace and splendour Of such sweet hours as these. —Original, by Eleanor Milson (12).
