Larsen, Foster ? s Hotel, ♦ Wanganui, that their eon, ' Lieutenant' Harold Larsen, .has been awarded the M.B.E. for distinguished: national ser- _ vice. . . • . . _ Lieutenant Larsen," who is aged 26, was born in Wanganui, and was educated at Auckland . Grammar, -School and Auckland University College,-where he obtained the degree of Master 'of Arts and Master of - Commerce,, with first-class honours in each. He left New Zealand in November, 1938, to con-. tinue his. studies, and on . arrival. in England enlisted in the Navy. After taking a special course-he gained the Board of Trade deep-sea master's certificate. Oh the outbreak" of war he was called up and has been engaged on special; service. - ; ... ~■>,.
