Pressure was high to ftlio south-east and low over the western Tasmnn. Forecast: Southeasterly winds from Nelson and Marlborough northward. moderate to slrong generally, and reaching galo forco in exposed positions. Seas rough north of Kaikoura and Farewell Spit. Elsewhere slight or moderate. Weather dull and unsettled from Marlborough northward, with fairly widespread rain and some heavy falls in the Poverty Bay-Hawke's Bay area. Fair to cloudy over; most of the South Island. Temperatures moderate in tho north, cold in the south.
