TWO WOMEN HURT

COLLISION BETWEEN CARS ACCIDENT AT AVONDALE Two women were seriously injured when the light motor-car in which they wore travelling along the Great North Road near the Oakley Creek bridge, Avondale, early yesterday afternoon, collided with a taxi driven by Mr. Y. J. Kennedy. They were Mrs. Moab Croton, aged 29, of 19 Fir Street, Avondale, who suffered concussion, shock and lacerations, and Mrs. Elisabeth Marjorie Swanson, aged 31, of 1 Fir Street, who received concussion and lacerations. Both women were taken to the Auckland Hospital, where their condition, which had been serious, later showed a slight improvement. The cars were extensively damaged.
