RATES AT ROTORUA

[BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] ROTORUA, Thursday A recommendation that the rate 9 remain the same was made in the report of tlie finance committee adopted at last evening's meeting of tho Rotorua Borough Council. - _ Mr. O. H. Coleman, chairman of tlie committee, said that there had been a reduction in the hospital levy but this was more than offset by the increase in tho interest charges and the decrease in the receipts from the petrol tax and the Main Highways Board. Expenditure had been cut to • the minimum and residents should be pleased that the committee had not needed to recommend an increase.
