CIVILIANS SUFFER GERMAN BOMBING RAID NORTH-EAST COASTAL TOWNS By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright (Received July 8, 7.10 p.m.) LONDON. July 3 Enemy raiders crossed the English coast in daylight yesterday for the second evening in succession. Bombs fell on two towns on the north-east coast and on the outskirts of a third, and it is officially announced that 12 persons were killed and 123 injured. Ton people were killed and 110 injured in one town in the north-east of England. So many people were rendered homeless that public halls were opened to accommodate them.

Five streets in this town were affected and at least six houses were destroyed, while several more were seriously damaged. The victims include a father and mother and their child.

A high explosive bomb fell in the poorer quarter of the town. Besides five killed, many were injured, including several children. Some houses and a school were badlv damaged. One news agency report declares that three men, two children and one girl were killed in a north-east coast town, from which British aeroplanes chased a raider.

One incendiary and one explosive bomb were dropped on another district in the north-east of England. The incendiarj - bomb caused a fire with which the fire brigade and the police dealt promptly. Thrae civilians were injured.

The Air Ministry reports that enemy aircraft crossed the south coast during the night and dropped bombs at random in southern and south-western areas. There was no serious damage and no casualties.
