Mrs. Lan Howard, of Symonds Street, left last evening for Blenheim. Mrs. J. N. Waddell, Vauxhall Road, Devonport, returned this week from Wellington. Miss T. Peterson, qf Waiuku, and Miss V. Thompson, of Masterton, are at tho Central Hotel. Mrs. E. R. Turner, of Parnell Road, returned home yesterday afternoon from a holiday spent at Helensville. Miss Zoe Ward, of Whangarei, is visiting Auckland and is the guest oi Mrs. C. Laery, Ladies' Mile, Remuera. Miss Barbara Court, of Remuera, is one of the helpers at the creche opened at the Y.W.C.A. for the children of soldiers' wives. Mrs. James McVeagh and Miss R. McVeagh, Shelly Beacli Road, Herne Bay, have returned to Auckland from a visit to Sydney. «. Miss Marie Fowke, of Mount Eden, has returned to Auckland from a three months' visit to Palmerston North, Wellington and Hawke's Bay. Mrs. Thomas Thain, of England, has arrived in Auckland and is staying with her mother, Mrs. Allan J. Moody, Mount St. John Avenue, Epsom. Miss Winifred Carter, the New Zea-land-Aniericai} harpist, returned yesterday to her homo in Mount Eden Road from Wellington, where she assisted in the Centennial Music Festival,
