TROOPS AT PAPAKUBA FEWER INFLUENZA CASES TOTAL IN HOSPITALS NOW 407 Week-end leave, which was cancelled at the Papakura military camp a fortnight ago as a precautionary measure to reduce the possibility of the influenza epidemic spreading, is to he resinned. The position at the camp is now reported to be much better. The number of soldier patients suffering from influenza was 407 yesterday, compared with 450 on Tuesday. One hundred and fifty-six reported at the sick parade at the camp yesterday morning, but of this number only 3*2 soldiers were sent to hospital suffering from influenza.

Forty-eight soldiers are patients in the Auckland Hospital, 207 are at Ellerslie and 152 at the Auckland Teachers' Training College. Accommodation at the Auckland Infirmary, it is stated, is no longer required, and the few patients who were there have been transferred elsewhere. There are reported to be no serious cases of influenza, and all the patients are making good progress toward recovery. Soldiers at Papakura will be given leave from 5.30 to-morrow _ afternoon and will return to camp by nine o'clock on Sunday night. The camp will be open to visitors on Sunday afternoon.
