Tony Galento, whoso training plans wero upsot by tho sudden death of his manager and friend, Joe Jacobs, recently asked for and was granted a postponement of his scheduled fight with Max Baer at Jorsoy City on May 28. Tho match will take place on July 2. Tho new dato is tho anniversary of tho first "million dollar gate," tho DeinpseyCarpcnticr match, also held in Jersey City on July 2, 1921. The bout was held at Boyle's Thirty Acres, with Dempsey knocking out his opponent in tho fourth round. Galento said , his now managers would, be Herman Taylor and Harry Mendel, bicyclo raco promoter.
