UNUSUAL COLLISION

;CAR EXTENSIVELY DAMAGED A motor-car driven by Mr. T. Halcrow, pf Hamilton, was crushedboth front and back when a heavy lorry, driven by Mr. L. Curtis, of Mount Albert, struck it in Mount Smart Road, Penrose,, yesterday morning. The lorry was proceeding along Mount Smart Road toward Penrose and struck the back of the car, which crashed into a power pole at the side of the road. At the same time part of the lorry's load of scoria was hurled forward over the front of the vehicle as a result of the sudden st^p. Mrs. Halcrow, who was a passenger in the car, suffered slight cuts, but otherwise no one was injured. The car was extensively damaged, but the lorry escaped lightly.
