SOCIETY OF ST. GEORGE
YEAR'S WORK REVIEWED THE ELECTION OF OFFICERS A year of excellent progress was recorded at the annual meeting of the Royal Society of St. George, held in the Te Akaraua Hall and presided over by the president, Mr. P. Heath Prcest. The society's finances were stated to be in a good condition and there had also been a satisfactory increase in membership. A special tribute was paid to the women members of the society in view of the patriotic work they had undertaken during the past year. The following officers were elected: —President. Mr. P. Heath Prcest; vice-presidents, Messrs. W. F. Allen, C nankins and W. G. Smith; secretary, Mr. E. Litt; council, Mrs. Heath Prcest. Miss D. Bell. Mrs. F. 11. Hobday, Messrs. Baker, G. Brewer. C. Hankins, ,T. Hollingworth, P. Lightbourne. E. Litt. O. C. Mason W. G. Offer, H. Pickering, R. Pitcher, W. J. Spring, A. C Stead, C. Warner, W. F. Allen, W. G Smith and A. H. Smith; ladies' committee Mrs. Heath Freest. Mrs F. F,. Bell, Mrs. P l ,. Litt, Mrs. .T. TTollingworth, Mrs. F. H. Hobday, Mrs. A.. H. Smith, Mrs. W. Morrison, Mrs. S. H. Bourke, Mrs. Iv. Raymond, Mrs. S. Scarle, Mrs. A. C. Stead, Mrs. H. T. Clarke, Mrs. Malcolm, Mrs. H Taylor and Miss D. Bell. A social committee was also elected, with Mrs. Philip Lightbourne as secretary.
