A UNIONIST'S PROTEST
. Sir, —On receipt of the report of the meeting of the Auckland Builders and General Labourers' Union held on Tuesday, April .'3O, I was astonished and pained that a decision had been made to support and affiliate to a subversive organisation. Personally I know of six members of this organisation who in recent years have visited Russia on a private mission. These humanitarian deluders of our common consciences are hamstringing the efforts of our sons and brothers overseas aijd deserting them when every assistance is required, and they are stabbing the Labour Party in the back under a pretence of support. i. refer to the New Zealand Peace and Anti-Conscription League. If I, as a hater' of all that's horrible in the destruction of our European cities and of the massacring of innocent and defenceless people of all "nges and both sexes, refuse to subscribe to this movement, then I am debarred from the union and all its benefits. I am also prevented from following my occupation and my employers are forced to throw me on to the unemployed scrap heap. Patiuot.
