FRANKLIN EX-SOLDIERS
CONSCRIPTION ADVOCATED [FROM OUR OWN" COH RESPONDENT] PUKEKOHE, Friday A decision to nrgo the Government to introduce compulsory military training and conscription was made at the annual meeting of the Franklin Returned Soldiers' Association at Pukekohe last night. The president, Mr. S. D. Rice, presided over a good attendanco of members. Ho reported that the association had had a most successful year. The financial statement showed an excess of income over expenditure of £153. The following officers were elected: President, Mr. Rice; vice-presidents, Messrs. L. C. Logan and I. Brown; secretary, Mr. E. O. Moncrief; treasurer, Mr. P. T. Field; auditor, Mr. V. L. Harvey. It was decided to urge the Government to take immediate steps to intern all - aliens- iniNety : Zealand*. v '
