SHORTAGE OF NAILS
RELIEF NOW IN SIGHT Some hardware stores in Auckland have no stocks of ordinary building nails and others have only very small supplies of several sizes. It has boon a common experience for persons to go from shop to shop in ail endeavour to obtain a particular size of nail, and floor brads and galvanised nails have been used, because of the scarcity, for purposes for which tliev are not designed. However, sufficient supplies of wire For nail-making have now arrived iu the Dominion to justify the belief in the trade that the end of the. shortage is in sight. Belgian wire bought by. the Government is stated to have been distributed among nail manufacturers, and the general expectation is that within throe to eight weeks supplies of nails will be normal.
