INCREASE IN DEATHS
FIGURES FOR HAMILTON [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Monday More deaths and fewer births are shown in the Hamilton vital statistics for last month, in comparison with the figures for March last year. Deaths increased from 24 'to 37 and births showed a decrease from 56 to 50. There were 52 marriages last month, against 53 for the previous March. DECREASE IN BIRTHS > i . TREND AT WHANGAREI , [from our own correspondent] WHANGAREI, Monday A marked decline is shown in the number of births registered at Whangarei for March, when compared with the same month last year. Marriages also siiow a decrease, hut deaths show a sharp rise. The figures are: —Births, 16 for last month. 43 for March, 1939; marriages, 12, 20; deaths, 15, 6.
