KNOCKED DOWN BY TAXI WOMAN'S HIP FRACTURED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] CARTERTON, Wednesday A single man, Mr. Norman Franklyn Hawtin, aged 40, of Martinborough, was killed instantly when he was struck by a taxi driven by Mr. James Fyfe Brassol,-of Martinborough. Mr. Hawtin was walking along the roadway at the boundary of the borough in company with Mrs. Stanton at the time of the accident. The vehicle carried him along the road for some distance. Mrs. Stanton was also injured, suffering a fractured hip. She was admitted to hospital.
