Cow and heifer hoof, however, was not so keenly .sought, and values wore easier by about l!s per 1001b. Steers made 1o £l4, this being 10s more than Inst week. Cows and heifers made to £lO los. compared with £lO os. A full entry of sheep met with a good sale and values showed a slight rising tendency on last week's quotations. Ewes made to 31s .'3d and wethers to 20.5. The best prices at the previous sale were .'il.s and l2Gs (id respectively. Lambs sold well, making up to -9s Gd, as against 31s Gd. Calves and Pig£ An extra large entry of calves came forward, but the quality did not reach the standard of preceding weeks and values tended to be lower. Plain and unfinished sorts were difficult to quit, while the demand disappeared toward the close of the sale. Runners made to £S 7s fid. as against. £7 17s hist week. This high price, however, was for an animal nl exceptional quality. \ ealers wore lis lower at i-'-l los. There was an increased oflering "I pigs, anil bidding was slightly slacker, hate rates wen; maintained generally, although prices decreased toward the finish of the sale, ;hid slips and ■weaners wore hard to sell.
