JOCKEY INJURED
FALL WHILE SCHOOLING CONDITION REPORTED SERIOUS An apprentice rider, Arthur Curwen, aged 22, employed by Mr. F. J. Smith at Takanini, was injured yesterday morning when schooling the horse Yaalso over hurdles. Vanlso, who was in company with Bachelor King, fell at the second jump. Curwen was thrown to the ground and was kicked by the horse. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital suffering from head injuries, and his condition last night was reported to be serious.
