BROADCAST CONCERTS
Sir, —L wonder how many listeners will agree with me that a change from the endless'repetition of records is long overdue. Would it not be possible for us to have one concert a week from each station of entirely flesh and blood artists? Surely this should not be difficult considering that the Choral Society, Male Choir, Amateur Operatic Society, etc., have no trouble in getting soloists and instrumentalists. Why cannot the broadcasting services do the same ? The fact that the Town Hall is packed for a good local concert proves what Auckland music-lovers appreciate. Moreover, it would give us'a chance of hearing some new music instead of listening to the same records sometimes two and three times a week. Why could this not be worked on the same lines as the weekly broadcasting by different organisations; let different musical societies be responsible for a concert on a certain date. Musical.
