TROPHY FOR MAORI TROOPS REQUEST TO AUTHORITIES [nv TKT.KORAPH OWN COItTCF.SPONOENT] ROTORUA, Monday Tlmt in all probability tho Prince of Wales Cup, wliich is competed for by Maori teams, would be taken overseas for competition between the five companies constituting the Maori Battalion was stated by Captain Chaplain Tv. T. ITirawara at a meeting of the management committee of the Rotorua Rugbv Union. A request had been made to tho authorities in Wellington to this end and he had every reason to believe that this would bp granted. Each company in the battalion represented a tribe, so thnt keen competition for possession of the trophy would be assured.
