EASTER PETROL
SOLDIERS ON LEAVE NO EXTRA ISSUE USE OF APRIL COUPONS CONCESSION TO MOTORISTS [nv TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION^ WELLINGTON, Monday Motorists will be allowed to draw on their April petrol coupons during March. The Minister of Supply, the Hon. D. G. Sullivan, made this announcement to-day. "In addition to the March allowance already notified, coupons numbered 2.3, 24, 25 and 26 will be available between now and the end of April," said Mr. Sullivan. "This will permit members of the second echelon to get the most from their final leave and will enable motorists to go further afield during the Easter holidays." The Minister said he was sorry the necessity for rationing did not permit the granting of a special holiday allowance. The Government was doing its best, however, to make existing supplies go as far as possible, and he felt sure motorists would co-operate in not wasting the petrol that was available. Those who use their April rations during March would realise that further supplies could not be made available next monlh. Mr. Sullivan appealed to all users of motor spirit to assist the petrol conservation campaign by economising in their oil fuel consumption.
