AUCKLAND CLUB'S SEASON SUCCESSFUL ACTIVITIES Throughout the season every effort was made to maintain the condition of the course and the various club competitions and open days were well supported, states the report to be presented at the annual meeting of the Auckland Golf Club on April 1. The statement of accounts shows a highly satisfactory result from the year's operations, the amount of the bank, overdraft having been considerably reduced. It is anticipated, however, that the present unsettled conditions will cause a drop in future revenue and the committee feels confident that members will recognise in a practical manner the urgent necessity for them to support the clubs affairs in every possible way. A number of members has already left on active service and it is leared there will be more to follow. In accordance with the rules all these members will be retained 011 the membership list without subscription during their absence. Early in the season the committee . appointed C. C. Clements as club professional and his services appear to have been duly appreciated by the members. PUKEKOHE CLUB \ large number of members and visitors attended the official opening of the Pukekohe Golf Club's winter season. Meal weather favoured the occasion, and the course was in excellent order. The season was declared open by the president, Mr. J. Houlston, sen., and a mixed Canadian foursomes event was played over 1;i holes. The winners were ,T. G. Niccol and Mrs. Niccol, of the Pukekohe Club, whose net score was r>7.
