FASTJTIMES RICCARTON TRAINING WILD TALK DEFEATS SCOLD PREDICTION PERFORMS WELL [ lIY T1.1.1.f, HA I'll —OWN COH ItKSI'ON DKNT.] CHKISTCHURCH, Friday The curly morning work at Kiccarton yesterday was marred by a dense log, whieli developed shortly alter daylight,. Conditions were better a I tor breaklast, wlie 11 the plough and the trial grass were in use. On tin 1 plough. (iroat Swoop and Oinapo ran six furlongs in 1.1.5. Great Swoop lias always been responsible for impressive work, but lias not raced up to expectations. Sovereign Lady strode over nine furlongs, the last seven in 1.31 3-5. Wild 'J'alk finished in front of Scold at the end of seven furlongs in 1.31. Shikari, Pleading and Stylosa were dissociated over five l'tirlonsi i" 1 Pleading went well. Disdain finished in front of Concertpitdi after running sis furlongs in I.IU. Disdain was withdrawn from the Great Autumn Handicap at 11.•_'() a.m. yesterday.

Prediction appeared to be going better than Cymric and Haughty Winner after covering seven furlongs in l.:U> 3-5. Haughty Winner is to be taken to Trctltliaill 10-lliorrow, and, as he has run his best races there, is certain to be ill strong demand again. On the grass, Pink Lad and (loud Health finished together, well clear of Tantivy, at tire end of six furlongs in l.io 1-5. Good. Health showed marked improvement on previous track efforts. He is to be ridden in the Itigh-wOight handicaps at Trentham by A. E. Ellis, who went north on Wednesday night to ride Beau Yitc at New Plymouth on Saturday.

Groat' Night finished clear of Wagner after galloping nine furlongs in I .OH 0-0. Great Night slioulil carry ou her good record at Trenthani. Density has been doing some pleasing work of late and appears to have settled down. She 'will tie ridden at Treutliam by {'• Spratt, who has been engaged lor her in the Great Faster Handicap also. Rebellion, who suffered a severe cold after the Wellington meeting in January, is in form again and yesterday shaped pleasinglyover seven furlongs on the grass, sprinting the last four at a fast pace. Tie will probably make his reappearance at Faster. Some of the Riccarton horses who raced at the West land meeting on February -1 did not reach home until yesterday. Several otiiers remained to take part at the Went port meeting next week. Willi two hurdle races ou the programme for the Easter meeting at Iticcarton, some of the likely candidates have been schooled lately. These include Dividend, Streamline and Flashlight, who have shaped satisfactorily.
