SPLENDID ENTERTAINMENT A novel of circus life possesses a distinct appeal to many people and "Luke's Circus,'' by Ruth ManningSanders, is certainly one of the best stories of its type which have appeared in recent years. Luke, as a boy of ten, is fascinated by circus and fair lile and contrives to get a job in one of the peripatetic shows. .He meets with numerous failures, for lie takes on all sorts of duties, but he gains experience and eventually wins through- until he becomes proprietor of a circus which gains a national reputation. No concise synopsis can do justice to this novel by' Miss Manning-Sanders, for it is powerfully written, is packed with many entertaining characters and stirring incidents.
