THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE BUSINESS MORE ACTIVE A steadier tone was apparent on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday. Business was active, but price movements generally were small. Dealing in banks was brisker and both issues of Commercials of Australia were lilted on sale. Insurances had better support. The classified issues remained firm, with only scattered selling quotations. Australian industrials continued dull, but little further ground was lost. New Zealand scrip remained strong. In the mining group, -Marthas eased a shade.

UNITED STATES WOOL WASHINGTON, March 5 It is officially announced that wool production in the United States in 1939 was 441,897,001b., an increase of 5,000,0001b. over 1938.
