POLICE OFFICER RETIRING SUPERINTENDENT F. L. LEWIN [by TELEGRAPH —PR ess association] WELLINGTON, Tuesday After 43 years' service in the Police Force, Superintendent F. L. Lewjn, who has been stationed at Wellington for the past two- years, will retire on March 19. He joined the force as a

constable at Christchurch in 1897 and later served at Timaru,'Amberley, Wellington,. Gore, Dunedin, Ohristchurch and Auckland. ' Mr. Lewin was in Auckland from February, 1926, to December, 1927, when he was transferred to the charge of the Nelson and Marlborough districts as inspector. He became superintendent in Wellington in 1938.
