Leading insurances were quiet, and values were inclined to be easier. The coal section was prominent for its strong support, with a sale of Kenowns at K)s confirming the tipwiird move. Timber and woollens were popular. The rise of 15 per cent in. woolle'n mill prices interested the market, and support at the close was good. Although most of the Australian industrials were a shade easier, Broken Mill Proprietary made a steady recovery from the low point reached in the week. New Zealand industrials came in for renewed interest. Farmers' Trading presented a Very strong front, with active dealing in Wilsons Cement and Northern Holler Milling. Tn the mining group trading was brisk. Mount Lye II were lifted sharply. Values 'dropped later in the week, but the ground was quickly recovered toward the close. Fiji issues again attracted attention, but after an early marked advance reaction set in and levels closed slightly easier. A comparison of rates is as follows: —
