MILITARY WEDDING

MACKAY—VALLANCE CEREMONY AT NGARUAWAHIA A military wedding took place on January 27 at the Presbyterian Church, Ngaruawahia, when-Miss Norma (Babs) Vallance, only daughter of Mrs. C. R. Vallance, of Te Awarnutu, and the late Mr. Vallance, was married to Ser-geant-Major A. T. Mackay, only son of Mr. and Mrs. D. Mackay, of Parawai, Thames. The bridegroom is a member of the second echelon. The Rev. S. J. Atkins performed the ceremony. A light-weight woollen suit of Tahitian rose was chosen by the bride, who was given away by Mr. J. Eveleigh, of Otorohanga. Her wide-brimmed hat of summer felt-was of the same shade as her suit, and she carried a posy of pink and mauve sweet peas. Relatives and intimate friends of the bride and bridegroom were present at the reception held subsequently. Mrs. Vallance received her guests wearing a frock of navy blue net over taffetas, relieved with pink, and a shoulder spray of pink carnations. Mrs. Mackay wore a frock of navy crepo suede with gold relief, and a navy blue hat.
